Of course, we can’t and shouldn’t focus on everything.  The Lord Jesus is so much; our ladies have so many needs; and we could have so many possible ministires with them.  It might help to think of articulating a vision statement like buying a family vehicle.  What is a car?  Who is your family?  So what should you buy?  Hopefully, we would do the same and use that information to prioritze what makes the most sense for our family.
So go back to your lists.  Pardon the analogy, but Jesus is like a car to take our PWOC family from where we are (our spiritual needs in Christ) to where we need to be (our greater spiritual maturity in Him).  And our ministries should help them “get on board” with the Lord Jesus.

What is He like?
What has He commanded His people to do?
What has He promised for obedience?

With whom has He placed you (who is your audience)?

Based on the needs and resources of your PWOC, what might He be calling all of you to do?

The Results of Our Observations

Who is Jesus?

Our next process is to write a vision statement that will lead to strategies, and from that, we can choose themes and graphics.

Vision Statement: (Desired End-State) A one-sentence statement describing the clear goal and means (ministries) that guides and inspires them toward that goal.

A vision statement needs to
• …be easily explained by those involved
• …be clear and simple (most aren’t)
• …avoid elaborate language & buzz words
• …not be confused with a mission statement

You might recognise these Christian organisations.  Here are their vision statements:

  • Barna.org: “provide people with credible knowledge and clear thinking, enabling them to navigate a complex and changing culture.”
  • Chic-Fil-A: “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with ChickfilA.”Helpful vision reminder

Please add all responses to the Theme Developement Facebook page HERE.  We will respond to this question until Tuesday morning(3-15-2016).  Then, we will select a vision statement or clarify more if we need to.
