Choosing The Scripture Translation

We’ve chosen Romans 12:2 as the scripture that reflects God’s calling to us as it pertains to the needs in our PWOC our communities.  We must now choose the translation.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”    ESV

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”    NIV

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”    KJV

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”    NKJV

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by therenewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”    NASB

Choosing The Vision Statement

Vision Statement: (Desired End-State) A one-sentence statement
describing the clear goal and means (ministries) that guides and inspires them toward that goal.

“…vision has a variety of definitions, all of which include a mental image or picture, a future orientation, and aspects of direction or goal.
Vision provides guidance to an organization by articulating what it wishes to attain.”

A vision statement needs to

…be easily explained by those involved
…be clear and simple
…avoid elaborate language & buzz words
…not be confused with a mission statement

1. Remain in Christ through a close relationship with him through reading His Word and through prayer.

2. The Word of God is our foundation for truth, not man’s nor the world’s system.

3. Allow God’s truth (Jesus, His Word) to be our foundation and transforms us from the inside out.

4. Prioritize our lives in such a way that we take up our cross daily and follow Christ.

5. Recognize that God’s Word is a treasure for us to search and hid in our hearts.

6. Resting our identities firmly in him instead of what the world says we are or who we should be. We find these truths in the word of God so that we can be transformed into the person he made us to be.

7. Focus on Who God is so that hearts will be set ablaze with this LOVE for God which will create the Desire to serve.

8. Discover more about who He is and how He deserves nothing less than our best.

 9. Empower women to be who they are in Christ and encourage one another to use our strengths to glorify God and make Him known throughout the nations.

10. Grow strong women in Christ who will serve and desire to pour into others what they are learning.

11. Stand firmly on the Word of God as their foundation for truth and allow God’s Spirit to use that experience to transform their lives and impact the world around them.

12. Teach the Truth of God through His Word so that the heart of His people will be transformed.
