Choosing The Final Focus

Our Collaboration Theme Scripture Verse

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.”                                                                                                                           2 Peter 1:3-9

As you pray about our theme scripture focus this weekend, ask yourselves some questions to help resolve the focus statements to one that best fits…

  • Does it accurately reflect the focus and context of the scripture we have selected?
  • What is the full purpose of this theme/vision? (The PWOC overall vision is the 4 AIMs.  Consider the purpose of this theme within the 4 AIMS).
  • How does it focus us to what really matters?
  • How does it offer clarity?

We’ve narrowed it down to 5 Theme focus statements.

 1.  Empowering women through their knowledge of Christ, to live effective, productive, godly lives.

2.  We want to encourage one another to be intentional in our relationships, willing to point each other to the cross in all situations, reminding each other of who we are in Christ, and seeing that we have a living hope through our justification made possible by Christ’s sacrifice.

3.  Engaging women in Christ to grow in fruitful faith through all He has given us.

4.  Women in Christ growing in fruitful faith.

5.  Making every effort to build on our faith through God’s divine power.

We will choose until Monday morning. (4/10/2017)

If you would like to discuss these choices more and how they fit in with our scripture verse choice, please post on this article in the Theme Development Group.
