What is the recurring struggle of the people?
And what is the Lord’s repeated solution?
If you’ve seen the thematic struggles of your installation in certain sections of Scripture, you may have also noticed that the Lord addresses recurring specific problems by restating specific solutions. For example,
In Israel’s wandering through the wilderness they were often complained about their difficult physical circumstances, so the Lord (through Moses) pointed to His miraculous provision for His undeserving people.
In Romans when the Jews tried to boast in their obedience to the Law and the Gentiles saw themselves as second class Christians, Paul repeatedly pointed both groups to righteousness by faith in Jesus’ work alone.
In 1 Peter when believers are understandably focused on their present suffering, the Apostle encourages them again and again to focus on the future glory of being with Christ.
