The 2019 Collaborative Theme is here!!
We’ve processed through the lens of local PWOC members with these 3 important concepts:
- Your local ladies are struggling most in certain areas. Why are they to trust Jesus or how to obey Jesus in those areas?
- Which two or three sections of Scripture seems to describe this theme of struggling? The passage should generally describe much of your installation’s struggle. What is God saying or doing in those passages to help them with that struggle?
- What is the recurring struggle of the people in those passages? What is the Lord’s repeated solution in those passages?
Then, we chose one of those local processes that seems to resonate with many, not all, of our PWOCs and we looked at an overall scripture, to create a vision statement, tagline, and graphic.
Here’s What We Came Up With
1) The theme scripture, vision,
and tagline focus our direction.
Isaiah 26:3-4 – “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.” – ESV
Finding His rest while wandering in the wilderness.
Resting On The Rock
2) The key passages focus our
faith & obedience to God.
Which two or three sections of Scripture seems to describe this theme of struggling? The passage should generally describe much of your installation’s struggle. What is God saying or doing in those passages to help them with that struggle?
Disciples teaching each other by instruction and example
Luke 9:1-6, 1 John 2:3-6
In the desert, or during correction, God teaches
Mark 8:34-38, 1 Peter 4:3-4, Acts 26:16-30
Know God’s Word and What it Means
1 Thessalonians 1:6-7, 1 Corinthians 2:16
3) God’s solutions focus
our studies, programs, etc.
What is the recurring struggle of the people in those passages? What is the Lord’s repeated solution in those passages?
The Wilderness of Spiritual Immaturity
- He gives us His Character – Galatians 4:8-9, Col. 3:16, Ephesians 3:19, John 17:3
The Wilderness of Disobedience and Struggle
- He satisfies – Psalm 63:1-2
- He gives His Spirit for obedience – Acts 5:32
Walking Overwhelmed In The Wilderness
- He gives us His strength – Psalm 18:16-19, 2 Cor. 1:21, Exodus 15:2
- He gives us rest – Psalm 95, 1 Chron. 23:25
The Wilderness of Homelessness
- He lives in fellowship with us – Acts 14:22, Titus 2, John 10:25, Col. 2:2
Now, we must decide how that theme will be represented as a graphic design. We are opening this part up to all the members of PWOCs everywhere. We need your help!! The body needs your unique skill and talent now!
For the next three weeks, consider this theme and create a visual representation of the Theme Focus, Scripture, and Tagline.
Please submit all graphics to the HUB EMAIL by May 31 2019.
We will then take a few days for the ladies of PWOC to choose from all the graphics submitted.
Please submit the graphic in JPG or PNG form. Save your creative files for use with the graphic if others would like to use it. (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator)
Two Things To Consider
There are many questions that arise when using images, songs, … especially in the realm of ministry and on the internet.
If it is on the web who owns it? Can I use it? Can I make changes to it? Can I copy an idea, thought, picture, song…all important and good questions to consider not just for integrity, but legality?
Here are two resources that might be helpful to understand the basics of using images, music, video…
Have you considered the end user?
Often a local PWOC will use the logo for a variety of purposes. And most of the time a local group will add their name to the logo. Does it’s shape and size easily fit to several venues, i.e. coffee mugs, t-shirts, notebook covers, etc. When choosing typography in design consider selecting one that is free to download so that you can pass it along. This will help groups maintain consistency in the image and provide greater use and flexibility if the PWOC would like to use the font in other documents.
Lastly, when you submit a logo to The Hub at PWOC you are giving this site, and its users the right to use, re-use, publish, re-publish in whole or in part, for editorial, commercial, promotional, and/or trade purposes.
You are also waiving any right to inspect or approve any copy that is used in connection with the artwork.
Are You A Thinker and Not A Graphics Person?
Not to worry!! If you’re not a designer and you have some ideas about what “things” might represent the Collaborated Theme, you can still help.
Post some of your thoughts back on the HUB FACEBOOK PAGE or send them to the HUB EMAIL. This post will be pinned to the top.
You will inspire those who can take your thoughts and make them come alive on the page.
