A Scripture That Resonates
Our next step will be to choose one or two verses with substance, but brief enough to memorize, as a foundational Scripture passage that best fits our ladies’ common struggles and our Lord’s common solutions. We’ve already identified several possible verses below. Before we move to that step, take the weekend to do two things:
- Look at the overall theme of the book in which each verse is written. Whatever theme verse we choose it should be because the overall context of that book has similar themes that can inform our Bible study series, programs, our retreat(s), etc.
- Consider any other verses you would like to add. Also look at the larger context of the book in which those verses are written.
2 Tim. 2:1-2
1You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
1 Thess. 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Ephesians 4:1- 6
1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
You cannot capture all of each book in one word or phrase, but, the following articles might be helpful
for your understanding of key themes in each book of the Bible.
Please add all new scriptures to the bottom of this post on the Theme Development Facebook page HERE.
We will respond to this question until Monday morning.(04-27-2020)
We will choose our Theme Scripture from that list.
